Fair Use or Scam?

The way that business operates is almost alien for those that are not used to their policies and procedures. This includes a myriad of different things, such as overhead costs, general business models and patent laws for products. The later topic has recently been the focus of scrutiny for information technology giant Securus Technologies, as there has been accusations against the company suggesting that their patent codes have expired. GTL, another company within the industry and a direct competitor of Securus Technologies, has made claims that Securus has been operating under expired patent codes, meaning that their products need to be released to the open market for fair use within other companies. Unable to accept these claims, Securus and a umber of their allies, have performed research into the amtter and discovered that they claims are not only baseless and completely untrue. Securus maintains its control over its products and it looks like they will for an extended period of time. Read more about Securus on Linkedin.

Securus is an interesting company as it provides communication support for incarcerated individuals currently residing within the United States prison system. Services and products such as video chat applications that can operate on both Android and Apple devices are just one example of the services that are provided to these clients. By using this application inmates are able to freely communicate with their loved ones without the need for physical forms of visitation. This not only saves customers time and money for visitation rights but it also generates peace of mind as family members no longer need to worry about security checks and transit time to the prison itself.

Securus will continue to do business as normal thanks to these accusations being proven inaccurate. They can continue to offer the same level of quality support to these people.
