New Brunswick’s Shootings

New Brunswick has had a few shootings over the past few years, not all of which have made the news.

On April 13th, 2013 Parysh Wood was charged in connection with the shooting of a pizza delivery driver that took place at 9:30 p.m. on the 30th of November the previous year. The evidence used to level charges against Parysh came from cell phone records. These records were uncovered due to the combined efforts of the South Brunswick police and the Middlesex County prosecutor’s office.

Parysh was already in jail at the time these charges were presented. Parysh’s current jail sentence was also in relations to other armed robberies of other pizza delivery drivers. At the time Parysh was arrested for the other armed robberies Justina Hampton was also arrested for the same charges. These arrests took place in January.

Another more recent shooting took place at a New Brunswick apartment complex. One person received injuries but was immediately transported to the hospital in a privately owned vehicle, described as a dark-colored Honda, by a local citizen.

By the time the police had responded to the calls the victim had already fled and the victim was on the way to the hospital. As part of the investigation, both the victim and the suspect are not being named due to possible charges that are still to come. It has been suggested that the victim may receive charges as well but information as to what those charges may be related to are being withheld as well.
