The Reasons Officers Trust Securus Technologies

When I show up for work at the prison, me and my fellow corrections officers are always looking for ways to make the work environment safer. It would only take a second for an inmate who was high or had a weapon hidden on their person to make serious trouble for me, my officers, my staff, the visitors, and other inmates. To try and keep the peace inside the jail, we have to trust in a few resources that allow us to do our jobs more effectively.

Perhaps one of the biggest concerns we have as corrections officers is the inmates getting their hands on contraband and then using it to put them at the advantage. The inmates already outnumber officers inside the prison, so it is critical that we do not allow this to occur. Despite our searches and scans, these inmates continually will frustrate us by saying they have an easier time getting these things on the inside than they ever did while they roamed the streets.

The most effective resource that we recently added to our arsenal was the Securus Technologies call monitoring system. The system monitors when the inmates are using the prison phone, and the LBS software allows us to be able to be doing other things while it detects any chatter from the inmates on contraband.

Securus Technologies has already been working in 2,600 prison systems, and the company CEO and thousand employees work towards their goal of making this world safer. CEO Richard Smith has given us a resource that has been key in allowing us to make this facility safer for all who are behind these walls. If we get an alert an inmate is talking about contraband, we now have the ability to take proactive measures and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Fair Use or Scam?

The way that business operates is almost alien for those that are not used to their policies and procedures. This includes a myriad of different things, such as overhead costs, general business models and patent laws for products. The later topic has recently been the focus of scrutiny for information technology giant Securus Technologies, as there has been accusations against the company suggesting that their patent codes have expired. GTL, another company within the industry and a direct competitor of Securus Technologies, has made claims that Securus has been operating under expired patent codes, meaning that their products need to be released to the open market for fair use within other companies. Unable to accept these claims, Securus and a umber of their allies, have performed research into the amtter and discovered that they claims are not only baseless and completely untrue. Securus maintains its control over its products and it looks like they will for an extended period of time. Read more about Securus on Linkedin.

Securus is an interesting company as it provides communication support for incarcerated individuals currently residing within the United States prison system. Services and products such as video chat applications that can operate on both Android and Apple devices are just one example of the services that are provided to these clients. By using this application inmates are able to freely communicate with their loved ones without the need for physical forms of visitation. This not only saves customers time and money for visitation rights but it also generates peace of mind as family members no longer need to worry about security checks and transit time to the prison itself.

Securus will continue to do business as normal thanks to these accusations being proven inaccurate. They can continue to offer the same level of quality support to these people.

Securus Has Given Us Many Secure Calls

Securus is the best thing that ever happened to our family once my brother went to jail. He is a in a special program for drug use, and he could be there for up to four months. We have been using it for just a week, but it has given us more than one phone call that was perfect. I have their app on my phone, and we have made video calls to him in jail. They are very clear calls so we can see how he is doing, and we are also very happy that we can do it all together.
The next thing that people need to realize is that we are making secure calls. It is really nice to know that we are on a secure line and have the privacy that we would have had when we were actually in the jail. This makes life easier for everyone, and we do not have to feel like we are going to be talking about family business in front of a bunch of people. We know that Securus respects us as people, and we also want to make sure that we can just talk when we call in. Securus makes it easy, and we can see that we are on a secure line when we start using the app on my phone.

We can call in at just about any time to see him, and we get a very clear picture of him so that we can see how he is doing. We can be sure that he safe, and we can keep talking to him until he gets out.
